Many unsuccessful or weak applications the UCDP Office receives are the result of small but critical errors: applicants not following application requirements, budgets that are estimated without basis, workplans that don’t align with costs, weak motivations for budgeted items, and inadequate progress or final reports. This practical, outcomes-focused workshop addresses those gaps.
Participants will learn to: interpret and apply call guidelines; produce realistic, defensible budgets that map directly to activity timelines; write concise, evidence-based justifications for personnel and services; and assemble high-quality progress and final reports. Sessions are highly interactive, featuring worked examples, budget templates, so academics leave with a fundable proposal outline and the tools to complete a compliant application.
