Senior academics play a critical role in strengthening the University’s ability to attract external research funding. This strategic workshop is designed for professors and associate professors who lead or contribute to grant applications, research collaborations and the development of emerging researchers.
The workshop will focus on identifying appropriate funding opportunities, positioning research ideas strategically and strengthening the quality and competitiveness of proposals. It will explore funder and reviewer expectations, collaborative and multidisciplinary grant development, and the roles of principal investigators and co-investigators.
The session will also consider how senior academics can support emerging researchers through mentorship, collaboration and internal proposal review. Participants will leave with practical strategies for developing stronger grant applications and contributing to a sustainable institutional pipeline of fundable research proposals.
