This seminar is aimed at assisting lecturers develop the basic skills needed to integrate YouTube into tutorial-based teaching and assessment. The seminar aims to explore ways to create and manage a YouTube channel catered for the creation of reliable education content that aims to support student learning andĀ evaluate the credibility of information found on the platform. The session will also briefly cover copyright consideration, offer guidance on fair use copyright attribution and licensing of content to ensure ethical content creation.
The use of some emerging AI-powered features on YouTube (such as auto-captioning, translation, analytics, and content tagging) will be highlighted, to help enhance teaching and student engagement. The objective is to promote interactive, accessible and legally sound digital teaching strategies to enhance tutorial-based learning through the use of the YouTube platform.
