Decoding Data: A Practical Workshop for Mastering Analysis and Interpretation

On the 5th – 6th June 2025, the University Capacity Development Programme (UCDP) hosted a highly engaging Quantitative and Qualitative Data Analysis and Interpretation Workshop for Master’s and PhD students at Westville Campus, Senate Chambers with Professor Sarasvathie Reddy and Dr Danielle Roberts. This practical, hands-on workshop equipped participants with critical techniques for transforming raw data into meaningful insights. Students were guided through key processes such as data cleaning, mining, visualisation, summarisation, and interpretation. The sessions were interactive and well-structured, offering real-world applications and fostering a supportive learning environment. The workshop empowered our postgraduate students with the tools and confidence to conduct rigorous, data-driven research.

One participant remarked: “The sessions were very relevant and insightful. The facilitators were patient, engaging, and demonstrated deep knowledge of the subject.  The workshop laid a strong foundation for us as aspiring researchers.”
